Schools in the Canonry Benefice

There are four schools in the Canonry Benefice.

Ash - Cartwright and Kelsey CE Aided Primary School is set in the heart of the rural village of Ash. With easy access to Canterbury, Thanet and Sandwich the school currently has eight classes including a Nursery Class which also offers childcare provision. There is a well-established Breakfast and After School child care and a strong set of extra-curricular after school clubs. A strong distinctive Christian character permeates the school and ensures all children are valued for their academic, physical and spiritual talents. Website:

Ash - St Faith's at Ash, a happy and high-achieving independent prep school and nursery for boys and girls aged two to eleven. Located in Ash, between Canterbury and Sandwich, we serve much of East Kent. Their cheerful and inquisitive children are inspired and challenged, from the earliest years, to think independently and creatively, to fully participate in and enjoy their education, to learn from their mistakes and build on their successes year by year. Preston - Preston Primary School is a small rural school set in the village of Preston near Wingham. The school has 5 classes with 2 year groups in 4 of the classes and year 6 in a class on their own. The school is part of the Dover, Deal and Sandwich Children's Partnership Trust, a member of the Sandwich Primary Consortium Collegiate Collaboration and in September 2013 Federated with Wingham Primary School. Wingham - Wingham Primary School benefits from a well-resourced learning environment which includes a library, good sized hall, a large field, spacious playground, an adventure playground, wildlife garden/outdoor classroom, reception outdoor learning area and other additional learning spaces. Before and after school child care is provided in our additional hall. In September 2013 the school federated with neighbouring Preston Primary School, and the two schools work closely together.
